there and back~!

my last min trip to Bangkok was really short, it's like a 2D2N kinda thingy with less than 36 hours notice period from the client. luckily there was flight availability and my colleague, Nat was able to extend her current booking with the service apartment ~ phew ~

a big place with a living room (TV, DVD player, sound system.. you name it!), a well equipped kitchen (seriously a very decent sized fridge, stove for your cooking, microwave over to warm your takeaways etc), and the hotel offers single bedroom or even 2 bedrooms for ya~ it's just like a condo~!
facilities such as gym, swimming pool, spa (all @ level 5) and a bar + business center on the ground floor.

if you're travelling in groups, this will be a nice option cause you can either walk out to BTS Chit Lom station (approx 10 mins) or share the cost of taking a cab out to your preferred destination.

otherwise, if you're travelling alone then i would suggest staying at Holiday Inn Bangkok which is just 3 minutes away from BTS Chit Lom station.

this was not a lonely trip after all ~!
co-incidentally, Gracie was there since Friday and has been having one hell of a shopping spree!!! LOL

after i've checked into the hotel, i made my way to Platinum shopping mall to meet Graice and her friend, Shu Ling. as usual, the roads were packed and super JAM in popular shopping areas!
another thing you'll notice is the smell of the streets of Bangkok! i think it must've been the sewage problem but anyway, we did abit of walking.. bought stuff and then to MK duck for a nice dinner~!

i didn't spend alot this time round, bought 2 pairs of shoes, 2 tops, 1 pair of shorts, a couple of stuff from Naraya etc!

rubber shoes @ 99 Baht (that's less than SGD 4.50)

blue shoes @ 250 Baht

tops @ 250 Baht each

1 pair of shorts @ 200 Baht (i think...)

no pictures on Naraya products though cause i'm just too lazy to take pictures of them! hahaa..

2 bottles of beauty tonic, requested by my mom each @ 25 Baht
the seller was surprized that i even asked for it cause she said that only local thai chinese will buy it.. haha...

3 bottles of massage oil which i can't quite rem the price, i think they are less than 300 Baht in total~!

besides shopping, i would also like to recommend this cheap restaurant found available in MBK, on the ground floor. it's opposite TOPS supermarket.
i don't know the name of the restaurant but i read about it from Jess's blog previously. thought i'll never get the chance to try their food but there it was... so lucky to BUMP into it...! haha.. just right after i helped Gracie to get her chips from TOPS! so i guess it must've been one "deserving" good deed after helping another~! LOL

i ordered a dish somewhat similar to "phat thai" err.. i'm sure this is not the right spelling~! haha.. but anyway.. it was stir fried glass noodle (aka vermicelli) with seafood and it was tasty! not greasy and their ingredients were fresh!
i also ordered their thai ice tea, which tasted just like the one i had at Golden Mile complex ~ superb! ~

for this meal, i spent less than 100 Baht!
unfortunately, i have no pictures to show you on what i've ordered cause i 4got to save them on my phone! arrrgghh ~!

if you have a sweet tooth and you adore ice cream, this is one place you MUST try! it's call the Cream and Fudge factory and they sell the creamiest ice cream ever! hahaha.. i just loveeeeeeeeeeee it~!

for 75 Baht, you get to choose 1 flavor of their ice cream of your preferred choice + 1 mix in e.g. Ferrero Rocher or Gummies or Oreo etc and they'll mix the ice cream with your topping (on ice cold marble stone) and WAO LAH~ your ice cream mix is ready~!

i believe i saw this kinda concept - mixing ice cream on cold marble stone - somewhere before other than in Bangkok... but the real difference is still the texture of the ice cream. really smooth, rich in texture and i guess my favourite's still French Vanilla + Rocher~! yumz!

so far, i've seen this shop in Siam Paragon - Ground Floor; very near to Haagen Dazs and at the departure halls of BKK International Airport of the waiting area.

try it if you're there.. cause i'm sure looking forward to this for my next visit!
