i was chatting with Clare (my Super GOOD therapist) last night while having my massage - realised that it's been 4 years since i've known her.
a funny sight during our journey back from lunch to the office in AMK.

a national/ worldwide holiday?!
managed to catch up on some "old" movies which i've missed the previous time when they were screening - jolly well had a good laugh for a funny comedy and was touched by the other, a romantic story.
Talladega Nights
starring Will Ferrell, this movie is about friendship, family and conquering your fears. it's quite "LAME" but funny - though in my opinion, is not as funny as the movie "Blades of Glory" :)
Lake House
starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, this movie though adopted from Japan has a different twist to its ending. it's a romantic movie about love and relationships and i'm such a sucker for this on-screen "couple"~! LOL
mahjong day
haven't been playing this mind/hand co-ordination game for some time already and 'm glad we did it cause hand "itch" mah~! LOL
unfortantely, i do not have any pictures for this posting to show you cause i wasn't able to do much of a "ONE pattern" 一色 successfully ~ SIGH ~

not much "killing" to urm... my wallet (of cos!) this season for 2007 Great Singapore Sale (YET?!!!!) except for home related items...
basically got ourselves new bedding items e.g. bed sheets/ matching pillow cases/ new pillows ~ haha... i know.. pretty much "auntie" shopping stuff lah ~!
other than these purchases will be err.. 2 tops from Dorothy Perkins and a skin care item (SNOW Pure UV with SPF 50+++) from Christian Dior :)

the thought of them leaving us, that sadness is slowly creeping into my senses and emotion. time sure flies and today marks their last day with us.
somehow, i'm happie for C, J, J ~!
C,J - they've found jobs with our ex company and will be starting work in June. happie that they're taken care of but sad for them leaving us - wishing them all the very best :)
J- i'm happie for her with the opportunity to upgrade herself as planned - no matter wat happens at home, 'm sure all's gonna end up well so follow your dreams ~!
our SPC AMT family is shrinking so fast with many of these familiar faces leaving us and soon we'll be having another farewell lunch for our dear Nett too!

WOW.
i can still remember my first encounter with Clare.
was having such a fatigue body and a heavy headache - so stressed out, i decided to go for a massage just to loosen up. it was then when i was introduced to Clare.
i didn't quite know what technique she was using on me but it felt really good.
much to my surprise, it was totally relaxing - all those knots in your body/ shoulders/ neck were released in matters of minutes ~!
Clare posses such magic fingers!
under her care, i was re-energized and relaxed.
i've learnt much from Clare besides feeling relaxed through every massage :) but importantly was from her knowledge and understanding in the human body. for eg. the importance of our bowel movements which many of us may not know of the many "danger" signs are often reflected on our faces.
through her massaging techniques and her knowledge on medical/diet/herbs - i've been able to "escape" much of the necessary "pain". in my case, is to reduce my consumption of spinach/ beef, so that i won't have much joint pain @ the knees :)
however, that does not imply no more visits to the professionals - doctors/ specialist ever again if you're seriously sick hor~!
Clare is someone very caring and helpful but she's not 神医 "shen yi" lah.
i still believe in medication when you're sick but of cos, if you're well and healthy..
a little prevention is always much better than cure!

my samsung phone is now "perfect" ~! yippe!
Pirates III
a must watch for all who loves an adventure and johnny depp!
i jus love his acting and never a dull moment watching the movie with a rather nice sense of humor throughout the show :)
however a "little" disturbing on parents who just cannot control their young!
there were baby cries and a little boy narrating throughout the movie!
OMG~!
yet some parents seem to have better "luck" with their kids - i was seated next to a group of boys aged 8 to 9; very well behaved throughout the whole movie.
guess what, their mom was not seated with them but nearby a row behind them!
we're paying the same ticket price and all i wanted was to enjoy my movie w/o much of a disturbance - that's not too much to ask right?!
~ sigh ~
perhaps the management of these theatres can do something about this...!
allocate a cinema theatre purely for all parents and kids group
since it's a family outing day, they can have a promotion package just for family and kids!
free popcorn/ cotton candy at a promo price!
'm sure the Singapore GOVT and/or our merchants will be most supportive of such an idea?!!!!

it's not like i've been playing mahjong lately. in fact, i haven't been playing for a long time and my hand's itchy-ing for a game (think many of us are..! hahaha!) but i just couldn't sleep (disturbed sleep) very well these days or just waking up far too early before my alarm BEEPS to wake me! arrghh!
3A. missing my beauty sleep - part II
had a funny dream last night about 2 mini monkeys being kept in separate cages. in my dream, one managed to escape cos it was sooo skinny that it jus slipped out between the bars. it found its way to me (not sure why.. maybe i was the owner of these 2 monkeys), climbed onto my shoulder and someone (duno who.. can't rem the face leh but i guess it's most prob someone i know cos it's not very scary leh) in the dream helped me to put netting over the cage. then i remembered putting the "escaped" monkey back into the cage. fed both monkeys with fruits.. think it was apple or something..! hahaha.. then i woke up..! hahaha.. it was too real liao.. !
p.s. dun think it was dexter "look alike" from the movie "night in the musemum" lah! hahahaha... kidding :P

kinda duno how/when/why one of the screw cap came off just within 7 days of my purchase (which totally sux since i got it for less than a week). being a "perfectionist" decided to goto Samsung's service centre to get this fix however was to no avail.
what happened that day on 22 Apr 2007
Service Agent: oh.. this is a limited edition color so i do not have the stock here. m not sure if it's available in the market at all.
MOI: what do you mean that Samsung released a limited edition color phone with no replacement parts at all?! that's ridiculous! then why released it in the 1st place?
Service Agent: this is a cosmetic issue so there's no warranty. you'll need to pay for it.
MOI: OK. but 'm just surprized the part fell out within 1 week! it's unlike any other brands of phone that i've used before! can you order in the parts?
Service Agent: i'm not sure. i will need to check. if there is, then we will need to place an order for it.
MOI: OK. please order. how long does it take for the stock to come in?
Service Agent: likely to take about 2-3 weeks time for the stock to come in.
MOI: do you need me to pay you 1st, i can do that but just get me the parts.
Service Agent: it's alright. you can make payment for it when the stock comes in.
so i left my number with the service agent on a loose sheet of paper that she provided me. 23 days later with no reply from Samsung, i wrote a "nice" letter to the vendor requesting for help.
finally after 2 days later from the date of my email, someone "Mr. XXX" from Samsung gave me call. the uncle's english is so broken and so HOKKIEN~!
OMGosh~
arghh.. it's alright! i can bear with this but what i cannot tolerate is the service level that was rendered to me!
my 1st thought - if i haven't wrote that "nice" email to Samsung, does it mean that no one's handling my case? that was never a single update from the service agent(s) at all during my 25 days of wait.
"Mr. XXX" told me that only he can order the parts, which he did so only sometime last week (btwn 7 - 12 May). the parts will likely arrive by next week - sometime on 23 May 2007.
on top of that, the replacements will be free for me (err.. u think i so cheapskate about not paying meh?! it's only $3 for the parts!)
my questions to him
1. do you mean there was no action from Samsung for approx 2 weeks?
2. why is it taking so long for Samsung to action?
3. why is there no updates from anyone in Samsung to update me on the progress?

he can only tell me it's due to internal issues and they took some time because they need to find the part number for the screw cap in "wine red" color.

i was cracking my brain cells thinking of my "tag line" for this post hence decided to use "hearts of gold" literally from my new bag - my latest purchase!

was out with gracie for dinner in town last night and we stumped upon this nice little shop in City Hall, Raffles Westin. bet some of ya' have heard of them, seen them and perhaps, might be their supporter too~?!
it's no surprize for their designs are pretty KAWAII :)
i was attracted to one of their handcarry bags, water proof and very light weight. range: sulmona, it was printed with brown/white/gold heartshapes and with gold color linings - looks chic!
current promotion comes with matching tissue holder with side zip, ideal for our loose coin or simply to keep our cash/ cards and off we go for lunch break during office hours!
SUPER good buy!
what's more, within the bag comes along a small handheld mirror which will not break even if you drop it. hahaha..!
gracie bought herself a tissue holder (unique see through pattern on the other side) with side zip to keep her loose change too! her tissue holder looks so "happy" on its own - hawaiian pattern that kinda makes me wanna go on a holiday! tempting ~!
she got another one for Jo too! hope Jo'll live it :)

not too bad for my 1st try but i think i know what to improve on next time; that would be on the black pepper portion, the garnishes (which i've somehow left out ~ hahaha) and not to peel too "clean" for the garlic. i'll try to do better next time!
mr. lee was really sweet to come over to my place to help us fix up our SUPER OLD comp. well, basically to help gracie pull out all our old data esp the photos and the MP3 and to burn them into the CD. did i just mention that our system's really SUPER OLD? i gotta emphasis this cause i think the comp's about 4-5 years old... serious! since no one's been using it, we thought of selling it away - most prob, very CHEAP.. CHEAP away :P
while our hardworking "technician" transferred the data and in the midst of waiting, we watched TV and drank bak kut teh. by 5pm, we're almost done and gracie was "shoo-ing" us to be ready cos she's having cravings for AMK's butter crabs. it was a last min decision and so, we decided to try our luck in the hope of a "not too long" Q for our turn.
unfortunately, we were WRONG ~ both kopitiams were packed!
full seatings in both places but there were people queue-ing for their turn.
just imagine the wait! we changed our minds and headed out to another part of AMK for assam fish head curry ~ yummyz ~! (check out my food blog @ http://makanprintz.blogspot.com/ for details!)
not a bad decision afterall ~
we managed to get seats pretty quickly, just before it got too crowded.
even though the service was alittle "off" cos the auntie was kinda blur by the crowd (they ain't like that usually under "normal" business days!), i'm still a fan of their assam fish head~!
bought mummy a pretty "cute" bunch of flowers, right in the middle was a pink rabbit cos her chinese zodiac's "rabbit" mah :P

do you still remember my last nature sighting of LIVE chickens in Singapore @ ECP?
well, it was a wet afternoon and i was thinking about them.
i guess i'm just being stubbon for my picture collection in my blog and so i thought....
why not try my luck in the park?!
there they were!
right at the same car park and perhaps due to the rain, were grazing the grass for fresh feeding?! we approached slowwwwwwwly... and parked nearby while i get ready for picture snapping :P 
for a "never stay in kampong before" kid like me, this is a rare sight!
i'm glad to see them still alive and kicking. these "brave" chix ain't afraid of the moving vehicles that drove into the car park, however, they are still wary of men as we approached, they run! hahaha!

i have no bonus to collect this month BUT luckily, it will be available for the following month to come. anyway, my plans for BKK has been postponed to July which i'm OK with it. hope it'll be safe enough to visit with NO more negative news e.g. bombings/ terrorist/ political issues by then ~!
meantime, still trying to get my mom to go along too but she's kinda reluctant becos of work :(
mother's day this weekend and i've still no idea where to take mummy for dinner. LOL
maybe will goto AMK for yummy crabs (the thought of the possible crowd and i feel like fainting. hehe..! ) or assam curry fish head :)

(wah.. we are really a very busy bunch! haha~!)
once there, we gave the staff a total of 7 diamond rings to CLEAN up and wash off the impurities that might be "stuck" to the surface for a super, brighter sparkle!
while waiting, we got kinda distracted to the shining diamonds.. again... ~!

Joanne & Hui Ling was telling me about this diamond bracelet.. cheaper and err.. kinda shiny-er too in comparison (that's becos they were bigger than Joanne's mah~!) to the one that Joanne got from her beau :)

my stupid HR is late in paying out my bonus.
1st they forgot to remind ah boss that both moi & ah-Nett is due in "work anniversary" hence need to revise our pay (is our increment confirm?!) which is still not firm/ approved.
2nd since they forgot to remind ah boss then obviously they "didn't know" have to pay out our AWS which in other words means, we won't be getting our 13th month bonus this week~! WTH ..! super "lucky" lor ~!
3rd heard from ah-Nett, our varible bonus might be affected.

time sure flies and it's almost time for moi bonus and 'm so excited.. hehehe! it's hard earn $$$ and a veri, veri long wait ~ sigh ~ contradicting i know with my earlier statement so i guess it's more like a "so NEAR yet so FAR" thought on this "timing" issue :P
our daily to do/ what to see in Chiang Mai & travel plans to both sites - Chiang Mai & BKK is almost "structured" and "confirmed" as we're pretty much settledon which day to travel to where and our choice of transportation~!
not an easy task to plan on this one cos we have a choice of either to fly or take a train back from Chiang Mai to BKK. hahaha..
Gracie; being a much more adventurous traveller than i am, would have preferred a more of a "bag packer" kinda holiday but i'm her opposite :P
nonetheless, we've come to a comprised decision - our trip back from Chiang Mai to BKK will be via train. Not bad lah cos come to think of it... we're going to save a night's accomodation cost on the train while travelling back to BKK.
that's hitting 2 birds with 1 stone - saving monie $$ yet able to experience abit of a "bag packer" way of travelling. well, as long as there's air-con for me (alamak ~ i'm not a nice person when i'm veri hot & "sticky" ya' know esp in a tropical country leh ~), i'm ok to oblige :P
Ros; will be joining us for our journey to the "shopping heaven" without her bf that is ~! err... else we're gonna DITCH her liao!
anyway, i'll blog more of our plans when it's finally confirmed or after we've come back from our trip to show ya' the pictures ~ so stayed tuned ~!
moi LABOUR day

for on this day - 1st May of every year, many of our friends get to enjoy a day OFF work BUT it's special this 2007 for me cos i get to try driving @ the circuit for the 1st time!
kinda hyped and nervous at the same time while i negotiate a really tight S-course and fun too cause you get to LEGALLY "jump" up the curb. LOL.
pretty much an interesting experience :)
was supposed to play MJ with my driving instructor in the afternoon however due to some "unforeseen" planning from Ros, the game was cancelled.
so i had a veri LO-BOH day with Simon driving around Singapore :)
started out with Marine Parade for Ah KUN kaya bread and soft boiled eggs for breakfast.
one of my FAV dishes cause i just lurveeee their tasty eggs **yummy**
after that, we walked around Shop & Save and bought some groceries which i think i'm really becoming into an "auntie" - having bought paper products, drinks (super CHEAP sale cos 99 cents per bottle!) and instant noodles (also very cheap leh..!) for the house ~ LOL
luckily, my "driver" is very used to me being an "auntie" ~
aiyah, for those who helped out buying groceries in the house will understand my point *bleh bleh*
since we're early and have nothing much to do hence we hopped by IKEA for the yummy and cheap chix hotdog for lunch :)
can't imagine so many cars that day and fancy seeing a malaysia car driving up the pathway towards our Giant in the east... hmm.. aint Giant originated from our neighbour next door?!
or maybe not? shrugs.
having the free time in our hands, we headed out to town ~ more shopping?!
walked around, chat, had our dinner @ Kenny Rogers :P
walked some more to Marina Sq... then.. we got "swamped" by Bridal shops!
OMG ~!
it was so scary and imagine the tactics these Bridal shops are offering now ~!
pay a small deposit now and the package which you've just purchased can "TAHAN" from now till redeemable in 5 to 10 years~! duhz..!
why would anyone wanna do that cos it just simply doesn't make any sense!
- technology's bound to change so who knows what newbie's out in years to come
- price's so competitive now so why bound yourself when you can browse around
- importantly, we're not in a hurry yet :P
